Gus Hansen staat weer als vanouds in het middelpunt van de belangstelling de laaste weken. Hij snoot wat cashgames in Macau, won een paar miljoen dollar en maakt zich nu op voor de Aussie Millions. Tony G heeft ook al zin in de $100.000 Highroller en verheugt zich op mooie cashgames down under. De pokertoernooien volgen elkaar ondertussen in hoog tempo op aan de andere kant van deze aardkloot.
The Gus-buzz
De Deen Gus Hansen blogde weer over zijn pokeravonturen. Macau is voorlopig voorbij en zoals we eerder al schreven harkte Hansen daar aardige bedragen bij elkaar (geruchten van $4 miljoen winst gaan rond). Hansen kwam een paar dagen geleden aan in Australië. “Arrived in Australia a couple of days ago and slowly getting acclimated. Poker hasn’t started yet – at least not the tournaments I am interested in. There is a handfull of tourneys catching my eye, ranging from the Main Event 10K buy-in, to the super duper High-Roller 250K buy-in. There is also 25K and a 100K in between and chances are I will play them all. Haven’t played any cash games as of yet, but with my recent win in Macau I feel well prepared for some NL Hold’ Em action.”
The G-spot
Tony Guoga, beter bekend als Tony G, is als Australiër natuurlijk aanwezig bij de Aussie Millions. In zijn blog op Part[Po]ker schreef de druktemaker over tennissers en natuurlijk poker. Zo heeft hij veel zin in het $100.000 Highroller event en hoopt hij op mooie cashgames. Hieronder de fraaiste uitspraken, right on the G-spot as always.

I will also be joining my sponsors’ most qualified (yes those who have Aussie Millions packages) for dinner on Saturday night.”

Is er ook nog wat te melden over de voortgang van de Aussie Millons? Jazeker! Tom Middleton schreef het $1.000 NLHE 6-max event op zijn naam, goed voor $84.200. In het $1.000 rebuy event is de finaletafel bereikt met daaraan kanonnen als Jonathan Karamalikis, Michael Benvenuti en Marvin Rettenmaier. Voor de winnaar ligt $122.670 klaar. De toernooien waar het allemaal om draait en waar Hansen en Guoga al naar vooruit keken, beginnen dit weekend of volgende week. Stay tuned!
