Volgens PokerStars is er geen sprake van dat een pokerbot tweede werd in een TCOOP event. Die geruchten deden de ronde, maar PokerStars heeft met een statement een eind aan het rumoer gemaakt. Verder zoekt de EPT dealers en staat voor zaterdag de finaletafel van de $100K Challenge Down Under op het programma.
PokerStars: het was geen bot
PokerStars Michael J reageerde op het twoplustwo forum op de geruchten rondom het account ‘IvanHaldi’, nadat links en rechts werd beweerd dat het hier om een bot zou gaan. De korte versie van de reactie van PokerStars: da’s niet waar! De iets langere versie:
“At the conclusion of our major tournaments, PokerStars regularly reviews accounts to ensure that they played in accordance with our rules. As is our routine practice, PokerStars has investigated this account for possible use of prohibited software and we are confident that the tournament was not played by a bot, and that the gameplay decisions were made by a human being.”
Het was dus een speler die gewoon bijna een uur niet reageerde op allerlei oproepen om over een deal te praten. PokerStars kwam tot die conclusie op basis van vijf punten, gebaseerd op de bot-detectie applicaties die ze hebben:
a) Scanning for prohibited third party software running in conjunction with the PokerStars client.
b) Collecting detailed information of how each player interacts with the PokerStars client on a fundamental technical level. This includes, but is not limited to:
– the manner in which hardware and third party software is used to input actions
– the usage of various client features
– chat at the tables (or lack thereof)c) Recording hand histories for analysis. This allows the review of aspects such as:
– volume of games played
– consistency in gameplay decisions
– anomalies in gameplay decisions
– presence of human errorsd) Maintaining detailed records of each player’s sessions, including:
– the start and end time of each session
– the duration of each session
– the number and duration of breaks in between sessionse) Conducting real-time Turing tests during play, such as CAPTCHAs which prompt players to type in a random word, and other proprietary tests which are designed to be imperceptible to humans.
Weet de pokerroom dan al wel waarom die Rus ‘IvanHaldi’ niet reageerde? Neen: “Currently, we don’t have an explanation for why the player didn’t join in discussions for a deal, and, in accordance with our normal reviews, our investigations will continue until we are comfortable with the activity on this account.”
Goed, daarmee lijkt de kous af, maar toch aardig om eens een opsomming te zien van de zaken waar ze op kunnen letten bij het opsporen van mogelijke pokerbots.
Wil jij dealen bij de EPT?
Grijp dan nu je kans! Alhoewel, de eisen die ze stellen zijn logischerwijs al direct een eerste schifting, want als je niet fatsoenlijk wat ervaring hebt hoeven ze je niet te hebben bij de EPT. Desalniettemin kunnen belangstellenden terecht bij de EPT Dublin, want daar is op 20 februari een open dealer auditie (zit daar een tv-show in, Holland’s next Top Dealer – misschien ook niet dan melden zich vast ook types die ander spul dealen). Check wel even of je aan de eisen voldoet:
• At least two years of poker dealing experience.
• Exist in GPTL.com and have your CV handy at the audition.
• You need to have experience dealing, at least, three poker derivatives.
• You must be a European Union citizen and have permission to work in all EU countries.
• A good grasp of the English language.
Na de auditie in Dublin volgen er nog een aantal, dus kun je niet wees gerust er volgen nog meer kansen.
