De Italiaanse keeper Gianluigi Buffon is het nieuwste lid van Team PokerStars Italië. De keeper van Juventus en het Italiaanse voetbalelftal werd vandaag gepresenteerd door PokerStars.it. Buffon: “I can’t wait to play against Team PokerStars Pro’s.”
Buffon heeft zin in zijn nieuwe hobby: ““I love living life to the full. I know there will be many commitments, but I love playing poker and the opportunity to join Italy’s (and the worlds) largest poker site is an honour and a great challenge. I can’t wait to play against Team PokerStars Pros and I’m ready to have lots of fun playing against everyone who wants to take me on.”
Buffon zal fungeren als PokerStars’ ambassadeur in Italië. Hij is wel gewend aan wat belangstelling. De keeper werd negen keer verkozen tot beste doelman van de Italiaanse Serie A. Buffon speelde al meer dan 100 interlands voor Italië (de 100ste was afgelopen november tegen Nederlander) en werd in 2006 wereldkampioen. De 31-jarige Italiaan wordt het boegbeeld in de PokerStars campagne in Italië.“It’s a union that combines the qualities often found in both sport and poker – those of skill, hard work and mental concentration. Team PokerStars Pro’s Dario Minieri en Luca Pagano waren natuurlijk aanwezig bij de presentatie, om hun nieuwe teamgenoot van harte welkom te heten. Buffon kan nu zowel commercieel als op het voetbalveld de strijd aan met Francesco Totti, die eerder dit jaar door Part[Po]ker werd vastgelegd als boegbeeld. Fanatiek AS Roma supporter Minieri had waarschijnlijker liever AS Roma speler Totti als collega gehad…
